Everything You
Want to Know.

ChipShotz is a portable backyard golf game played with real wedges and real golf balls. Two fold-flat pyramid targets set up anywhere in seconds — backyard, tailgate, party, or practice green. Real clubs, real ball, real score.

What is ChipShotz?

ChipShotz is a fold-flat portable golf target game designed for backyard play, parties, tailgates, and golf practice. Two pyramid-shaped targets set up in four seconds and go anywhere you can swing a wedge. Real clubs, real ball, real score.

What is a Chipyramid?

The Chipyramid is the foldable triangular target at the center of the game. Each one folds flat in seconds, pops open into a stable three-panel pyramid, and holds a topper on its flat top. You get two per set — one for each player.

What's in the box?

Each ChipShotz set includes two Chipyramids, rubber bumpers, a canvas carry bag, and an insert card with the rules. Everything you need to play. Bring your own wedge and golf ball.

Where is ChipShotz made?

Designed and printed in-house in Omaha, Nebraska. Not outsourced — every set is built and inspected by us before it ships. Small batch by design, because it lets us control every unit.

How do you play ChipShotz?

Place two Chipyramids facing each other about five yards apart, balance a topper on each, and alternate chipping at your opponent's target. One point for hitting the Chipyramid, three for hitting the topper, five for knocking it clean off. First to 11, win by two. Full rules and game modes at chipshotzgolf.com/play.

How long does setup take?

Four seconds. Unfold, place, balance a topper. That's it. No stakes, no assembly instructions, no tools. It's playable before the group even decides who goes first.

How far apart should the Chipyramids be?

Four to six yards is the standard starting distance. Closer for beginners, farther for experienced golfers. Adjusting distance mid-game as players warm up is half the fun.

Is ChipShotz competitive or casual?

Both, depending on who's playing. The scoring system and win-by-two format make it genuinely competitive. The setup is casual enough that strangers pick it up in minutes. It scales to the room.

Can you play with teams?

Yes. Two-player head-to-head is the standard format, but ChipShotz works for teams, round-robin tournaments, or a group taking turns. Additional game modes are at chipshotzgolf.com/play.

Can you use real golf balls?

Real golf balls only. Foam balls and plastic clubs take away the whole point. The game is built around real wedge shots and real ball flight — that's what makes it feel like golf instead of a toy.

Do you have to be a golfer?

No. Non-golfers pick it up in a few shots — the target is forgiving and the scoring is simple. That said, actual golfers have a real advantage and get real short-game practice out of it. It works for both crowds at the same time.

What skill level is ChipShotz for?

Any skill level. Beginners move closer and aim for the Chipyramid. Experienced players move back and go for the topper. The game self-adjusts based on distance and shot ambition — no handicap system required.

Can kids play ChipShotz?

Kids who can swing a wedge can play. Move them closer and let them chip for the one-point score. It's a good way to make short-game practice feel like a game instead of a drill — which it is.

Is ChipShotz a good gift for golfers?

It's one of the better golf gifts because it's actually usable, not decorative. Any golfer with access to a yard, a park, or a practice area can play it immediately. Ships in a canvas carry bag, ready to give.

Is ChipShotz easy to travel with?

Yes. Both Chipyramids fold flat and slide into the included canvas bag. The whole set fits in a golf bag, a car trunk, or a backpack. It's been to lake houses, beach trips, tailgates, and driveways — that's the point. Most golf games are too bulky to actually bring anywhere. ChipShotz folds flat so you do.

Does ChipShotz work indoors?

Yes, with adequate ceiling height and something to chip off of — a mat, carpet, or garage floor all work. Same game, same rules. A basement or garage in January hits different.

Can you leave ChipShotz outside?

The panels are built from high-impact, weather-resistant material, so short-term outdoor exposure is fine. We'd bring it in overnight or ahead of heavy rain — not because it can't handle it, but because it's worth keeping in good shape.

Is ChipShotz good for tailgates, bachelor parties, or golf events?

It was built for exactly those situations. Sets up in under a minute, runs on real clubs, and creates a game people actually want to watch. Golfers get it immediately. Non-golfers figure it out in about three shots. It travels in a bag the size of a laptop sleeve.

How is ChipShotz different from cornhole or Spikeball?

Those are throwing games. ChipShotz uses a real golf wedge and a real golf ball — same clubs, same ball flight, same muscle memory as actual golf. It's the only competitive backyard game that actively makes you better at a sport while you're playing it.

How is ChipShotz different from other golf practice aids?

Most golf practice aids make you stand in one spot and hit into a net. That's darts with a backswing. ChipShotz has a live opponent, a moving ball, and real consequences for a bad miss. It's a game, not a drill — and the short-game improvement is a side effect, not the pitch.
